Utah Valley University (UVU) is more than just a place to study—it’s a vibrant community full of opportunities to connect, grow, and make unforgettable memories. Whether you’re a freshman just starting your college journey or a senior looking to make the most of your final semesters, there’s no shortage of ways to get involved and embrace the Wolverine spirit. Here’s your guide to making the most of your time at UVU.

Attend UVU Athletic Events

There’s no better way to showcase your Wolverine pride than by cheering for UVU’s athletic teams! From basketball games in the UCCU Center to soccer matches at Clyde Field, the energy of UVU’s fans is contagious. Grab some green and black gear, bring your friends, and let your voice be heard as you root for the Wolverines.

Tip: Check the UVU Athletics website for schedules and special events like “Pack the Stands” nights, where giveaways and free food make the experience even more exciting.

Join a Club or Organization

UVU is home to more than 100 student-run clubs and organizations, ranging from academic groups and cultural clubs to recreational and service-oriented ones. Joining a club is an excellent way to meet people with similar interests and passions.

Not sure where to start? Check out the UVU Club Rush, held each semester, to explore all the options and chat with club leaders.

Participate in UVU Traditions

UVU has a rich array of traditions that connect students and foster school spirit. Don’t miss out on these highlights, hosted by the UVUSA:

  • Wolverine Wednesdays: Wear green every Wednesday to show your Wolverine pride and get access to student discounts around campus.
  • Wolverine Bingo: A free event for all students, Wolverine Bingo includes six rounds, each with valuable prizes. Students can come alone or with a group and make new friends along the way. As a kickoff to both fall and spring semesters, Wolverine Bingo is a chance at high-stakes glory!
  • Friendsgiving: Meet fellow Wolverines while enjoying a delicious holiday meal together every November. Learn about the origins of Thanksgiving and why it is celebrated here in the United States.
  • Emerald Ball: A longstanding tradition at UVU, Emerald Ball is an elegant dance typically in conjunction with Homecoming. This event provides a great chance to come with a date, a group, or come stag and leave with newfound friends. Students have an opportunity to dress to impress and dance their troubles away at this themed dance.

Volunteer Through UVU’s Service Programs

Giving back to the community is a core part of UVU’s mission. UVU’s Center for Social Impact offers countless service opportunities, from local outreach programs to larger initiatives. Not only will you make a difference, but you’ll also forge connections and develop valuable skills.

Take Advantage of Campus Events

UVU hosts a wide variety of events throughout the year, including concerts, guest speakers, career fairs, and cultural celebrations. Some notable options include:

  • Roots of Knowledge Tours: Explore the breathtaking stained-glass installation in the library and learn about the artistry and history displayed in this stunning piece.
  • The Zone Events: The Zone hosts small events on UVU campus almost every day of the week. Gather some friends and get creative with The Zone’s art projects or grab something tasty (and free)!

Make the Most of Your Wolverine Card

Your Wolverine Card is more than just a student ID—it’s your ticket to exclusive discounts and benefits. Use it to:

  • Get discounted or free admission to UVU events.
  • Get free rides on UTA buses, UVX, and the UTA Frontrunner with your UVID.
